Houstonia magazine seeks an experienced editorial Art Director with digital and print design skills to help produce an award-winning quarterly city magazine and daily online publication. We need a versatile, creative, and fast-paced team player to present the stories that define Houston with lively imagery and design.You will collaborate with editors, photographers, and illustrators to tell visual stories focused on food and drink, regional travel, style, news, and the arts scene in the Houston area. The art director manages all creative aspects of stories from conception to completion while working within a dedicated budget. Deadlines matter, and precise page production is a must. Position Summary: The Film and Video Director will produce, capture, and broadcast high-impact film and video content for various platforms, including weekend services, the website, and ministry events. They will manage technical aspects, oversee editing, and collaborate with contractors and volunteers to deliver videos that advance Trinity Church’s mission of seeing lives changed by Jesus. The Film and Video Director will report directly to the Creative Pastor and work cohesively with the Creative and Production teams. Key Responsibilities: 1. Work as a cohesive unit with our Creative team and work in tandem with the Live Production team to develop and execute compelling video-based content for services and social media. 2. Create compelling visual content that communicates what God is doing here at Trinity Church and outside of TC through our various ministry and outreach partners. 3. Develop and execute strategic, vision-based video/photo content for, included but not limited to testimony stories, mini-documentaries, message bumpers, sermon illustrations, promotional / highlight videos, lyric video & music videos, as well as other creatively driven content 4. Produce and edit film & video content, ensuring timely and high-quality content and alignment with TC’s branding and communication guidelines as set by the Creative Pastor and Communications Director. 5. Collaborate with ministry and department leaders to develop video content that supports their programs and events. 6. Work with the Creative Pastor to help manage technical & creative aspects of film and video production, including equipment acquisition and maintenance, set up/tear down, cameras, lighting, design, staging, filming, editing, post-production, and distribution. 7. Provide leadership over the Video ministry for all Live Services, Digital Online Services, and other live events and/or digital initiatives. 8. SUMMARY:Manages all Entertainment operation activities, duties, and initiatives pertaining to the showroom, event production, and all casino entertainment related technology. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully. Upon request, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.<ul><li>Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.</li><li>Manages show advancing including planning with booking agent, artist management, artist, and agency management once acts are confirmed.</li><li>Assist at all Tribal event operations including schedules, outside services, site services and maintenance.</li><li>Ensure all show documentation is properly consolidated for hard archive in showroom and digitized for tribal archive.</li><li>Operates and designs shows and ensures all equipment is properly maintained and repaired.</li><li>Maintains excellent communications with all Directors and Supervisors.</li><li>Interviewing potential performers to discuss all aspects of their act to ensure a professional and appropriate performance.</li><li>Maintain awareness of all casino entertainment presentations (UFC, Boxing, Football, Soccer, and any other sporting events) to present scheduling, channel routing, audio/video needs are set up, and any other equipment. </li><li>Overseeing marketing material advertising the event, both internal and public-facing.</li><li>Negotiating contracts and pay rates with performers based on budgetary restrictions.</li><li>Implements approved departmental policies and procedures.</li><li>Manages venue staffing, rental equipment, inventory, purchases, and projects.</li><li>Coordinating the progress of the show day operations in a professional manner with vendors, artists and artist production teams. </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to design, program, and operate a visually pleasing light show appropriate to the event and artist specifications while maintain guest comfort.</li><li>Able to dictate show cues to spotlight operators, video switchers, camera operators, deckhands, audio engineers, and any other show personnel.</li><li>Understands travel logistics, transportation, staffing, catering, and adjusting equipment/materials.</li><li>Able to program and operate in-house and rented lighting consoles both digital and analog as well as all outboard gear required.</li><li>Ensure the budget for the department is monitored and adhered to by implementing effective processes and procedures.</li><li>Able to advise on power requirements and distribution for all equipment.</li><li>Prepare necessary data for the budget in area of responsibility.</li><li>Create and modify all room diagrams, stage and lighting plots, rigging programs, seating charts, etc. as required by internal staff and outside vendors/artists.</li><li>Keep abreast of competitive changes including industry trends and local competitive set.</li><li>Research and advice on technical and entertainment related casino projects.</li><li>Develop, maintain and nurture a positive work environment. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining a disciplined environment and implement practices that promote safety, quality and productivity. </li><li>Help coordinate and supervise training, assignments and development of subordinates. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).</li><li>Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and to assist them as required.</li><li>Must follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.</li><li>Able to make difficult decision in a fair and honest manner.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.</li></ul> SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage directly and indirectly all employees of the Entertainment Department.
